Respiratory Therapist – NICU

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to join a dedicated team within a pediatric healthcare environment. This position involves working in a Level 4 NICU and offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of critically ill infants.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to neonates in a Level 4 NICU setting.
• Administer therapies and medications while monitoring patient responses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate families about treatment plans and respiratory care processes.
• Participate in self-scheduling as explained by management.

Shift Information

This position is a night shift role with options of working 36 or 48 hours per week. Shifts are 12 hours long, from 19:00 to 07:00, and require availability every other weekend and holiday, including two out of the three winter holidays.

Qualifications

• Active RRT certification, with BLS and NRP certifications required.
• Experience in Level 4 NICU is mandatory.
• Cardiac pediatric intensive care experience is preferred.
• ACCS certification is preferred.
• Applicants must possess or have pending a Virginia license, and must have an additional state license to be eligible for a temporary license.

Position is located in a prominent children’s healthcare facility. Candidates should be adaptable to a self-scheduling model which aims to accommodate preferences but does not guarantee specific schedules.
