Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)

Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a high-risk labor and delivery unit, providing exceptional care to patients through their pregnancy and childbirth experiences.

Assignment Details

• Assignment Length: 13 or 26 Weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: Nights, options for 3×12 or 4×12 shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks. Potential for call-offs for 1, 12-hour shift per 2 weeks.
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekend
• Floating: May float to similar units if needed
• Local Candidates: Not accepted. Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

Qualifications

• Licensure: Must possess an active Registered Nurse license in Alaska
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Labor and Delivery
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Experience: Charge experience preferred or willing to be trained
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted

Unit Information

This position is based in a high-risk labor and delivery unit with the following features:

• OB Triage with 5-10 rooms
• 7-14 Labor and Delivery (LD) and Antepartum rooms
• Facilities include 10 OB Triage Rooms, 10 LDR Rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
• Average daily deliveries of around 7, with potential for up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
• Average of 4-5 third trimester testing patients daily, along with an influx of triage patients
