Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for an assignment focused on providing high-quality care in a dynamic maternity unit. The position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and contribute to both labor delivery and postpartum care.

Assignment Details

• Assignment Length: 13 or 26 Weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: 3×12 or 4×12 Night Shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks
• Weekend Requirements: Yes – every other weekend

Unit Information

This role is within a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit, featuring:

• 10 OB Triage Rooms
• 10 Labor, Delivery, Recovery Rooms
• 3 Operating Room Suites
• 4 Post-Anesthesia Care Units

Average daily deliveries are around 7, with the potential for up to 14 patients due to inductions and high-risk antepartum cases. The OB Triage unit averages 4-5 testing patients in the third trimester daily.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced
  • NRP
• Charge experience preferred, or willingness to be trained for charge duties
• Ability to float to similar units as necessary
