Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality care to patients in the labor and delivery setting.

Position Details

• Assignment Length: 13 or 26 Weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Shifts: 3×12 or 4×12 Night shifts
• Years of Experience Required: 1 year
• Weekend Requirements: Yes – every other weekend
• Guaranteed Hours: 60 Hours per 2 weeks (traveler may be called off for one 12-hour shift per 2 weeks)

Unit Information

This position is situated in a high-risk labor and delivery unit, featuring:

• 10 OB Triage Rooms
• 10 Labor Delivery Recovery (LDR) Rooms
• 3 Operating Room (OR) Suites
• 4 Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Rooms

The unit generally sees an average of 7 deliveries per day, with potential peaks of up to 14 patients, including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases. The OB Triage averages 4-5 testing patients in their third trimester, along with an influx of triage patients daily.

Qualifications

• Licenses: Must have an Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand for auto offer; pending licenses will be accepted, but final offer requires a valid license
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Experience: Charge experience preferred; willingness to train as charge nurse is acceptable

• Float Requirements: May float to similar units as needed
• Block Schedule Flexibility: Not open to accommodating block schedules
• Local Candidates: Not accepted; candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
