Pediatric Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pediatric Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) for a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension. This role offers a fast-paced environment in a busy pediatric clinic.

Schedule

• 4×10 Hour Shifts: 07:30 AM – 06:00 PM
• Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
• Days Off: Thursdays and Weekends

Experience Requirement

A minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant-Certified in an adult outpatient clinic setting is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Vital Signs:
  • Obtain and record vital signs
  • Conduct hearing and vision screenings
• Prepare for Exam:
  • Record patient history, medications, and allergies
• Setup and Assist with Procedures:
  • Provide assistance during nebulizer treatments
• Injections:
  • Administer immunizations
• Specimen Collection:
  • Label specimens accurately
  • Perform throat swabs
  • Conduct urine collection (UA/Clean Catch)
  • Carry out venipuncture
• Laboratory Tests:
  • Monitor blood glucose levels via glucometer
• Office Duties:
  • Handle pharmacy calls and patient refill requests
  • Conduct telephone triage
• Professional Knowledge and Skills:
  • Administer TB tests
  • Make follow-up phone calls
  • Room patients for exams
  • Perform suture removal

• Experience with EPIC charting is preferred
