MRI Technologist

Job Summary

An MRI Technologist is responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy and MRI procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.

Role Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for MRI procedures, explaining the process and answering any questions.
• Position patients accurately to obtain the necessary images and ensure proper documentation of all procedures.
• Operate MRI equipment following protocols to achieve optimal imaging results.
• Monitor patients during the procedure for any signs of distress or discomfort.
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed to protect patients and staff from radiation exposure.
• Maintain MRI equipment, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate necessary repairs.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to interpret images and contribute to patient diagnosis and care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited MRI program.
• Current certification and licensure as an MRI Technologist.
• Strong understanding of MRI technology and safety regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on patient care.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Work Environment

The role may require working in various settings, including outpatient clinics and diagnostic imaging centers. Flexibility in scheduling may be necessary to accommodate patient needs.
