Occupational Therapist (OT)

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic team in an inpatient rehabilitation program. This role focuses on enhancing the quality of life for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions.

Position Information

• Role: Occupational Therapist
• Specialty: Rehabilitation OT
• Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 40
• Weekend Hours: Occasional Saturday shifts
• Call Requirements: Flexibility to swap a day off during the week

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services to patients in an acute rehab setting.
• Evaluate patients and establish individualized treatment plans based on their unique needs and diagnoses.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and therapeutic exercises to enhance their recovery and independence.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient rehabilitation outcomes.
• Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of practice.
• Required Education: Doctorate, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an inpatient rehabilitation setting is preferred.
• Skills:
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) in English.
  • Ability to demonstrate cooperative teamwork and a commitment to patient-centered care.

• Patient Population: General adult and geriatric populations with a variety of diagnoses.
• Facility Features: Low stimulation secured unit, specialized therapy gym, and unique rehabilitation facilities including a therapy car and outdoor healing garden.
