Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry
Position Information
This position is an auto-offer for a Registered Nurse specializing in Telemetry. The role involves providing essential patient care in a well-equipped telemetry unit.
- Department: Telemetry
- Number of Openings: 1
- Shift: Nights, 1900-0700
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Weekend Requirements: As required by the facility
- Call Requirements: None
Qualifications
- Required Licensure: Current RN License (Meets the criteria for licensure in the state or currently licensed in the state)
- Required Certifications: BLS from AHA only, NIHSS (must obtain prior to start if not already certified)
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Telemetry
- Preferred Skills: Experience and competence in drug titration, inpatient care
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 24
- Patient Ratios: Days 1:5-1:6, Nights 1:6-1:7 (no guarantee on ratios)
- Equipment: Telemetry monitoring systems, lift equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps
- Electronic Medical Records: EPIC
Role Responsibilities
The role involves utilizing the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating the effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers
- Coordinating patient care in collaboration with ancillary departments
- Upholding patient rights and confidentiality of information
Working Conditions
Work requires significant physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Nurses must be prepared to engage in a high-risk environment involving exposure to blood and body fluids. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary based on patient care needs.
