Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery/Nursery/Postpartum

Position Overview

The role involves caring for maternity women and newborns in a Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum unit. The candidate is expected to have a strong background in labor and delivery nursing, along with the ability to provide high-quality care to both mothers and infants.

Position Information

• Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Call Requirements: 3 (12-hour shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend rotates
• Patient Ratios: 1:2
• Number of Beds: 2 labor beds and 3 postpartum beds
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License in Tennessee
• ACLS Certification
• BLS Certification
• NRP Certification
• AWHONN Certification
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS Certification
• Experience with Centricity and Meditech
• Couplet care experience

Unit Information

• Supervision: Reports to the WS Manager
• Patient Population: Maternity women and newborns
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments: Labor management

Dress Code

Scrubs may be of any color; however, casual or other facility apparel is not acceptable.

Additional Information

All clinical staff on assignment in Tennessee must complete a check against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to the assignment’s start date.
