Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 17
• Patient Ratios: 1:6 max ratio
• Electronic Health Record: Paragon
• Patient Population: Adults aged 18+, with a majority 65+

Supervisor

Reports to the Nursing Supervisor.

Responsibilities

The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse will be responsible for the following:

• Providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a medical surgical setting.
• Conducting assessments and developing individualized nursing care plans.
• Managing PICC and CVC lines and performing wound care.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participating in daily rounds and charting patient progress in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in a medical surgical or equivalent setting.
• Skills: Proficiency in PICC/CVC management and wound care is essential.
• Floating: Potential to float between facilities for medical surgical duties.

This is a collaborative environment that emphasizes teamwork, with robust support from physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as respiratory therapy services. The unit has 24-hour provider coverage, CT, X-Ray, and laboratory services available.
