Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Position Overview

This position is for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in a behavioral health setting, primarily focused on the care of patients in a locked unit. The role involves working primarily with voluntary admissions, although some involuntary admissions may occur. Patients are encouraged to participate in group milieu settings under high safety precautions, as many may have suicidal ideation and are subject to stringent contraband protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the psychological, social, and environmental factors affecting patients.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments and patient needs.
• Facilitate individual counseling sessions to support patient mental health and well-being.
• Lead group therapy sessions focused on recovery and personal development.
• Provide ongoing treatment interventions to support patient progress and adjustment.
• Coordinate discharge planning and care management in collaboration with Care Management Social Workers.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and assist in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license.
• Experience in behavioral health settings preferred.
• Strong knowledge of assessment and therapeutic techniques in mental health care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a recovery-oriented and multi-disciplinary team environment.

Additional Information

This position is a day shift role, offering a 5-day work week from 08:00 to 16:30. The work environment is designed to support the full continuum of behavioral health services, ensuring that all patients receive the care and attention they need to facilitate successful outcomes.
