Cardiothoracic Surgical Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Cardiothoracic Surgical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in surgical techniques and a commitment to providing quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule

• Work Schedule: 4×10 Day Shift
• Regular Hours: 06:30 – 17:00
• Call Requirements: Minimum of 10 call shifts per month, with the potential for call anytime from 17:00 – 06:30
• Weekend Requirements: 1-2 weekends per month

Responsibilities

• Assist in Cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, AVR, AAA, MVR, minimally invasive valve procedures, VATS, mediastinoscopy, and RATS.
• Support CVL procedures with carotid cutdowns and laser lead standby.
• Float to general operating room as needed for additional surgical cases.
• Ensure proper handling and reprocessing of flexible endoscopes, with a preference for bronchoscopes, EGD scopes, and EBUS.
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Required Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Surgical Services, preferably in Cardiothoracic settings.
• Required Certification: BLS, Washington State License, and NBSTSA certification preferred.
• Preferred Skills: Experience in general, cardiovascular/thoracic, and laparoscopic surgeries.
• Additional Preferred Experience: OB/GYN, Plastic surgery, ENT, Urology, Robotic surgery, Orthopedic surgery, Neuro/Crani, and Transplant.
• Ability to learn quickly and assist with training and onboarding of new staff.

• Daily Average Surgical Case Volume: Approximately 55 cases.
• Scrub Color: Any color is acceptable with the exception of reddish orange.
• Charting System: EPIC.
• Parking: Facility provided at no cost.
