Cardiac PCU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac PCU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have substantial clinical experience in the cardiac care unit and be adept at managing a variety of complex patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac patients, including those undergoing pre and post-operative treatment.
• Monitor patients for myocardial infarction, primary arrhythmias, heart failure, and vascular conditions.
• Administer blood and blood products, as well as manage chest tubes and sternal precautions.
• Perform telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Execute breathing treatments and care for patients requiring CPAP/BiPAP and trach management.
• Engage in patient education and care planning in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a surgical telemetry setting.
• Must have experience with open heart surgery, vascular management, and telemetry interpretation.
• Preferred experience with VAD and TAVR procedures.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Epic electronic medical record experience is mandatory.

Work Environment

This position requires floating to like units and includes a night shift schedule. Flexibility in assignments is essential, along with the ability to work every other weekend. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4 but may increase to 5 during late-night shifts.
