Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the PCU/Med Surg/Oncology unit. This position requires a commitment to patient care and teamwork, with a focus on supporting a diverse patient population.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: PCU Oncology
• Primary Patient Population: Adult Oncology PCU and Trauma PCU patients
• Number of Beds: 18

Position Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Shift Type: Nights
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Floating: Travelers may float to other Med/Surg and PCU units, maintaining the same level of care.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Experience: 1 year required; strong PCU experience preferred, with oncology experience as a plus.
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted

Certifications

• BLS – Required
• ACLS – Required
• ONS/ONCC – Current certification preferred, but not required

Patient Care Responsibilities

• Hourly rounding and bedside shift report are integral to patient experience.
• Occasional titration of medications, including insulin and Cardizem drips.
• Common drips/medications include chemotherapy, heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix.

Skills and Equipment

• Respiratory Equipment: Travelers will commonly work with high-flow oxygen systems.
• EMR System: Epic
• IV Pumps: Alaris
• Additional Equipment: Lyko lifts available in even-numbered rooms with further lift equipment accessible.
