Job Description

The Surgical Assistant performs a variety of duties to support the circulator and surgeon in the care of surgical patients. This role is critical in maintaining a safe and sterile environment for the patient at all times under the supervision of qualified operating room personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the circulator and surgeon in a range of activities during surgical procedures.
• Maintain a safe and sterile environment for patients throughout the surgical process.
• Adhere to all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing healthcare practices.

Requirements

• Ability to fulfill the on-call component of the position, including one weeknight call per week and weekend call every fifth weekend.
• Strong commitment to patient safety and infection control.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

Shifts may vary, with the potential for 8-hour or 10-hour workdays. The position requires flexibility, particularly with on-call responsibilities.
