Cardiac ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cardiac ICU Registered Nurse with experience in managing patients with advanced cardiac devices and complex cardiac diagnoses. This role involves providing patient care for individuals requiring intensive monitoring and specialized interventions related to cardiac conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with advanced cardiac devices such as LVAD, Impella, IABP, and TVP.
• Monitor and manage patients in the Cardiac and Medical Intensive Care Units, as well as step-down units.
• Administer medications and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as required.
• Perform post-cardiac surgery care, including sheath removal and pre/post-cardiac catheterization interventions.
• Consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
• Conduct hemodynamic monitoring and manage invasive lines.
• Interpret dysrhythmias and manage complications as they arise.
• Supervise a patient load with a 2:1 ratio.

Qualifications

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac ICU or similar intensive care setting.
• Proficient in the interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of complex cardiac conditions.
• Experience with central line management, ventilator management, and care for ventilated patients preferred.
• Strong skills in accessing/managing ports and arterial line management.
• Familiarity with Epic charting system is preferred.

Patient Care Environment

• Daily census of approximately 16 patients with a focus on cardiac and medical intensive care.
• Units supported by interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more.
• Operative and procedural support may be required, including ECMO and CRRT management.

Additional Information
