Occupational Therapist Assistant

Join our team as an Occupational Therapist Assistant where you will play a crucial role in providing rehabilitative and skilled treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders. Responsibilities

• Implement rehabilitative treatment interventions as directed by an Occupational Therapist.
• Administer various procedures as part of personalized rehabilitation plans, including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, and modalities.
• Assess patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments as necessary.
• Provide consultations to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers concerning cognitive and physical disorders.
• Maintain effective communication with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress and treatment plans.
• Document all required clinical and regulatory information in electronic documentation systems, ensuring accuracy in patient records.
• Contribute to discharge summaries and provide input for treatment plans.
• Participate in meetings, including patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings, to discuss patient care strategies.
• Engage in facility training and educational offerings to enhance professional development.
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.
• Adhere to the standards set by NBCOT, AOTA, and state regulatory practices during all professional activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist Assistant.
• Experience in long-term care (LTC) or rehabilitation settings is required.
• Must hold a current COTA license.
• Active state licensure/registration when applicable.
