Registered Nurse (RN) – SICU/Oncology

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our SICU/Oncology team. This position requires a commitment to patient care in a high-acuity setting, with flexible scheduling that may include day, night, or rotating shifts based on departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients with diverse medical conditions.
• Monitor and assess patient status, implementing appropriate interventions for complex cases.
• Administer medication and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
• Utilize advanced technologies for patient monitoring and management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and treatment options.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is required.
• EPIC experience is required.
• Oncology experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are required.

Patient Population

This role primarily involves the care of adult patients with diagnoses including:

• Hemorrhagic shock
• Hypovolemic shock
• Sepsis and septic shock
• Pneumonia
• Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS)
• Craniotomy
• Ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes
• Intracranial hypertension
• Delirium

Special Procedures/Unit Details

• Management of external ventricular drains
• Intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring
• Massive transfusion protocols
• Mechanical ventilation
• Heated high flow oxygen therapy
• Bipap and CPAP administration
• Tracheostomy management
• Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
• Titration of vasopressors

This position is not open to first-time travelers.
