Registered Nurse – Interventional Radiology

The role of a Registered Nurse in Interventional Radiology involves providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing various procedures, including those in Interventional Radiology, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound. The position encompasses both pre and post-procedure care, including recovery in the Phase 2 recovery area.

Shift Details

• 10-hour shifts: 07:00 – 17:30 or 08:00 – 18:30
• Staffing ratios: 1:5
• Occasional weekend requirements: On-call as available

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Pending licenses are accepted
• RTO restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days

Role Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care during prep and recovery of procedural patients.
• Administer moderate sedation for Interventional Radiology procedures involving CT, Ultrasound, and Interventional Radiology cases.
• Monitor patients undergoing MRI, including those with pacemakers and those requiring anxiolytic medications.
• Handle medication administration for nuclear medicine patients.
• Collaborate in procedures including biopsies, tube placements, line insertions, drains, lytics, thrombectomies, and liver embolizations.
• Utilize equipment such as Air Pal for patient movement and ceiling lifts in CT rooms, as well as NK monitors with EtCO2 monitoring.
