Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Job Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) plays a vital role in providing rehabilitative treatment to patients with physical functioning disorders. This position requires adherence to regulatory and clinical practice requirements under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
• Administer a variety of treatment procedures, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, and modalities.
• Assess patient progress and communicate effectively with supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Document all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain accurate patient records in accordance with company policy.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers regarding physical disorders.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, including patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.
• Supervise and support students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
• Adhere to the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and state practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics during professional practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a PTA.
• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation settings is required.
• Active PTA license in the state of Massachusetts.
• New graduates are considered if they have completed Level II clinical experience.

Working Conditions

This is an 8-hour daytime position with no weekend or on-call requirements. The PTA will participate in facility and company-required trainings and in-services.
