Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Supervisor

As an Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the administrative and clinical functions of the intellectual and developmental disabilities program. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality care and support to individuals facing various challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide standard and clinical supervision to staff members using a variety of supervisory methodologies.
• Manage and address crisis situations effectively with program staff and clients.
• Train new staff on electronic medical record systems and assist with questions and concerns.
• Review treatment records and reports, providing direction for documentation improvement.
• Oversee the management of staff within the department, including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and addressing complaints.
• Participate in monthly Total Quality Management Committee meetings and implement quality improvement initiatives.
• Supervise case program consultations with staff members.
• Ensure compliance with Habilitation Waiver and Children’s Waiver program requirements.
• Maintain systems for tracking staff credentials and training hours.
• Conduct regular one-on-one supervision with staff members.
• Attend meetings, conferences, and trainings, reporting relevant information to leadership and staff.
• Assist clinical staff in utilizing electronic medical record data for program management.
• Assess community needs and set priorities for service provision.
• Monitor the delivery of psychiatric, psychological, and case management services.
• Collaborate with inter-departmental groups to ensure effective program administration.
• Complete necessary documentation, referrals, and paperwork as required.
• Lead regular staff meetings and maintain records of discussions and decisions.
• Act as a liaison and participate in agency committees as needed.
• Complete annual training requirements specific to the role.
• Work with finance teams to meet funding requirements and budgetary guidelines.
• Support and train staff in Person Centered Planning guidelines.
• Ensure service activities and case records meet established standards.
• Follow professional ethical guidelines in all interactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or counseling with a valid LMSW, LLP, or LPC license from the State of Michigan.
• At least one year of experience in evaluating and treating children and adolescents.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, utilizing relevant treatment modalities.
• Preferred experience with Waivers and supervisory roles.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records is highly preferred.
• Must meet qualifications for Children’s Mental Health Professional (CMHP) and Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) within 120 days of hire.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to be organized and culturally competent.
• Valid driver’s license and a favorable driving record are required.
• Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations appropriately.
