Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Job Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) plays a crucial role in providing rehabilitative care to patients with physical functioning disorders. This position focuses on delivering skilled and medically necessary interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
• Administer various rehabilitation procedures, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, and the use of assistive devices.
• Assess patient progress and communicate updates with the supervising Physical Therapist for adjustments in treatment plans.
• Document all patient interactions and treatment information accurately in the electronic documentation system, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, including patient care conferences and rehabilitation discussions.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and other care providers regarding physical disorders.
• Maintain adherence to the APTA and state practice regulations, including ethics and code of conduct.
• Supervise and support students when instructed by the supervising Physical Therapist.

Schedule

Regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, with flexible 8-hour day shifts. Start times must be communicated and start prior to 6 AM and no later than 10 AM.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience required.
• Experience in long-term care or rehabilitation strongly preferred.
• Must have an active PTA license in Oklahoma.
• New graduates are welcome to apply, provided they have completed Level II clinical experience.

Additional Information

This position does not require weekend work or on-call duties. Participation in required training and meetings is expected to ensure high standards of care and compliance with regulatory requirements.
