SICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated SICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a surgical critical care unit. This unit provides specialized care for patients recovering from neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, general surgery, orthopedic surgeries, and transplants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality patient care in a surgical critical care environment.
• Monitor and manage patients with complex medical needs, including administering vaso-active drips and managing central lines.
• Assist with procedures and patient assessments, including PA catheters, external ventricular drains (EVDs), flap monitoring, arterial lines, and wound care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and comply with hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a preference for candidates with neuro or surgical experience.
• Experience in an academic medical center is preferred.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BCLS are required.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Ability to float to other ICU units as needed, but not to sister hospitals.

Schedule Details:

• This position may require weekend shifts, unless otherwise noted on the schedule.
• Requests for time off (RTO) are limited to 1 week maximum.
• Block schedule accommodation is not available unless specified otherwise.

Additional Information:

• Travelers will be responsible for their parking costs, which are approximately $10.26 per day.
• In the event of low census, staff may be called off without charge or may be placed on call.
• Scrubs are provided for OR personnel; any color is acceptable for nursing staff.
• Charting is conducted through the EPIC system.
