SICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced SICU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit. This unit specializes in treating patients with complex conditions resulting from neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, general surgery, orthopedics, and transplants.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
• Monitor and manage critically ill patients, including those on vaso-active drips.
• Assist with the insertion and management of central lines, PA catheters, EVDs, and arterial lines.
• Conduct flap monitoring and wound care as required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Floating to other ICU units as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting, with a preference for candidates with neuro or surgical experience.
• Experience in an academic medical center is preferred.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BCLS are required.
• Ability to work weekends as per scheduling needs.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Float to other ICU units may be required.
• Local candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Pending licenses will not be accepted.
• Restrict RTO to a maximum of 1 week.

Important Information

• Guaranteed hours may be adjusted in cases of low census, with possible on-call requirements in 4-hour increments.
• This position requires flexibility with scheduling, including working regular weekend shifts.
• Scrub color is flexible; scrubs will be provided for OR personnel.
• Charting will be conducted using the EPIC system.
• Parking will incur daily costs.
