Neonatal Intensive Care Unit RN

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a level III NICU. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience and expertise in caring for high-risk infants in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to infants requiring specialized medical attention, including very low birth weight premature infants and those requiring ventilatory support.
• Conduct accurate assessments, develop care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Adhere to hospital protocols and standards while delivering compassionate and family-centered care.
• Participate in educational activities and training within the unit.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a permanent staff nurse in a NICU, with at least 3 years of experience in a level III facility.
• Must possess valid certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Experience working in a teaching hospital is preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including two weekend shifts per month as needed.
• Must be willing to float to Mother Baby units to care for infants as required.

Working Conditions

This position involves working in a state-of-the-art 54-bed level III NICU serving as a regional referral center for high-risk infants. The unit provides advanced care for patients with complex medical needs.

Additional Information

• Guaranteed hours subject to census levels; providers may be called off or placed on-call as necessary.
• Charting system utilized: EPIC.
• Parking costs are applicable on a daily basis.
• Local candidates are welcome to apply; however, pending licenses will not be accepted.
• RTO restrictions apply: 1 week maximum.
