NICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated NICU Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing critically ill infants and possess the necessary certifications.

Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour days, 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts per 4 weeks (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holidays: Subject to unit coverage needs

Unit Information

• Unit Type: NICU Level 4
• Number of Beds: 71 (including 17 stepdown beds)
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 for ICU, 1:3 for Level 2
• Common Diagnoses: Premature infants, cardiac defects, genetic disorders, post-surgical care, ECMO, and cooling

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of NICU nursing experience, with strong consideration given to candidates with at least 2 years of Level 4 experience or experience in a busy Level 3 setting.
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS Certification
  • NRP Certification
  • Cardiac STABLE certification is a plus
• Travel Experience: Previous travel nursing experience is preferred.

Orientation and Training

New hires will receive a comprehensive orientation, including 2-3 days of floor-specific training. Nurses will complete a SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion as part of competency assessment, focusing on maintaining sterile fields and other critical nursing skills.

• Available Resources: Neonatologists and mid-level practitioners on-site 24/7, respiratory therapy available around the clock, and dedicated NICU pharmacy during the day.

• Potential Floating: Positions may float to mother-baby and labor care (babies only).
