Operating Room Nurse

Unit Details

The Operating Room department provides specialized services across a variety of surgical disciplines, including:

• Bariatrics
• Urology
• Neurology
• ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat)
• Oral Surgery
• Plastic Surgery
• Transplant Surgery
• Ophthalmology
• General Surgery
• Gynecology (GYN)
• Orthopedics

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of Operating Room experience prior to travel, including specialties in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics.
• Weekend shifts are variable and will be discussed during the interview process.
• On-call responsibilities are variable and will also be discussed during the interview.
• Floating may be required within the facility/scope of practice and to Outpatient as needed.
• Maximum request for time off (RTO) is 7 days; no holiday RTO will be approved during specified blackout dates.
• All candidates will undergo a clinical review to determine fit for the role.
• Prior experience with similar surgical cases is mandatory; the unit does not accept first-time travelers.

Blackout Dates

• November 23rd – November 29th
• December 21st – January 3rd

Compliance

Full compliance is required to start on time. Failure to meet compliance requirements may result in delays of up to two weeks due to orientation schedules.

Additional Information

Orientation hours are non-billable and are determined by the length of the assignment. Applicants may review and discuss floating requirements, weekend shifts, and call responsibilities during the interview process.
