Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

The primary responsibility of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is to provide direct physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by the Physical Therapist. This role involves ensuring the highest degree of quality care is provided to residents at all times.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, and administer treatment to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing.
• Ensure that all treatment is delivered following an established plan of care.
• Provide clinical support and instruct patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment interventions and adjust care as needed.
• Complete required forms and documentation in accordance with company policy and state/federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education).
• Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Empathy and patience when working with patients.
• Physical stamina to assist patients with movement and exercises.
