Registered Nurse (RN) – Intermediate Care

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for our Intermediate Care Unit. This unit operates as a combination of medical telemetry and step-down care, providing essential services to various patient populations.

Unit Information

• Unit Size/Beds: 42 beds (21 medical & 21 intermediate care)
• Expected Ratios: 1:3 for intermediate care and 1:6 for medical cases
• Common cases include: Pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Hyperglycemic Hyperosmolar State, Alcohol Withdrawal, Gastrointestinal Bleeding, Sepsis, Pulmonary Embolism, Urinary Tract Infections, and Respiratory Failure

Shift Information

• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Holiday coverage is required

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred
• Certifications required: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Experience with tracheostomy care, ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, cardiac drips, BiPAP, and telemetry is essential
• Flexibility to float to other units when necessary, with the ability to work across both medical-telemetry and intermediate care sides of the floor
