Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to deliver direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during each shift. This role ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
- Coordinate patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.
- Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician or standard protocols, documenting according to policy.
- Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs upon admission and throughout the care process.
- Supervise and mentor LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
- Complete patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
- Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
- At least one 13-week previous travel assignment required.
- Two (2) years of current experience in the specialty is required.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with EPIC systems; training is available on-site.
Education
- Required: One of the following is required:
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
- Preferred: N/A
Certifications & Licensure
- Required: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
- BLS certification completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
- Preferred: N/A
Shift Information
- Shift Type: 12 Hour Nights
- Shift Hours: 1700-0500
