Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

The primary responsibility of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is to provide direct physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by the Physical Therapist. This role is essential in ensuring that the highest degree of quality care is provided to residents and patients at all times.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, and administer treatment to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing.
• Deliver treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Provide clinical support and instruct patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans.
• Monitor patient response to treatment interventions.
• Complete required forms and documentation in compliance with company policy and state/federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions provided by a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Empathy and patience when working with patients.
• Physical stamina to assist patients with movement and exercises.
