Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 269 (1 IR angiosuite, 5 IR holding area beds)
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 in Imaging
• Equipment: Nihonkohden patient monitors
• EMR: CERNER, transitioning to EPIC in October 2024

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in the Imaging department, including monitoring patients’ conditions.
• Observe and document patients’ vital signs as applicable.
• Maintain intravenous lines for patients receiving IV fluids.
• Administer first aid and assist with patient comfort as necessary.
• Administer medications under physician direction.
• Assist in various procedures within the Imaging department.
• Interact effectively with patients of diverse age groups and backgrounds.
• Maintain IV skills and emergency equipment/supplies for patient care.
• Act as a liaison between the Imaging department and patient care division.
• Document patient records accurately while in the Imaging department.
• Coordinate with patient care division on changes affecting patient care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Imaging Director.
• Exhibit excellence in hospitality, courtesy, and compassion towards patients.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with invasive and non-invasive procedures in IR suite, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, or Diagnostic.
• Strong critical care nursing skills, with the ability to perform well under pressure.
