Registered Nurse (RN) – Endoscopy

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Endoscopy team. This role involves performing vital sign checks and blood glucose checks while providing exceptional care to patients in the Endoscopy unit. The RN will work closely with a dedicated team to ensure a high standard of patient care.

Shift Details

• Shifts: 4 shifts of 9 hours (06:30 – 15:30)
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: 2-3 weekends during the contract

Responsibilities

• Perform vital sign and blood glucose checks independently.
• Assist with the following procedures:
  • Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
  • ERCP with Spy Glass
  • Bronchoscopy
  • Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS)
  • Colonoscopy
  • Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
  • Interoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (ION) Procedure
• Participate in preoperative and postoperative care.
• Circulate and assist as a tech in the Endoscopy suite.

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience: 1 year; first-time travelers are welcome.
• Certifications Required: BLS and ACLS.
• Experience with ERCP is required.

Unit Information

• Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics.
• Staffing Ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients.
• Facility Capacity: 3 rooms, 11 beds with an average daily census of 20 patients.
• Unit Systems: Proficient use of Pyxis and Epic is required.
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue.

Compliance and Orientation

• Full compliance is required to start on time; if not compliant, orientation may be postponed by 2 weeks.
• Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours are determined by contract length.

Holiday and Call Requirements

• Major Holidays: Expected to work if assigned during the holiday period.
• Call Requirement: 1 weekday call per week and 1 weekend call per 6-week schedule.
