Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

The primary responsibility of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is to provide direct physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by the Physical Therapist. This role is essential in ensuring that the highest standards of quality care are consistently delivered to residents and patients.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, and administer treatment to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing.
• Deliver all treatments according to an established plan of care.
• Provide clinical support and instruction to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment interventions.
• Complete required forms and documentation in compliance with company policy and state/federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Demonstrated empathy and patience when working with patients.
• Physical stamina to assist patients with movement and exercises.
