Registered Nurse (RN) – Intermediate Care

Position Overview

Join a dynamic team in an Intermediate Care Unit focused on pulmonary care, providing essential health services to patients requiring advanced airway management. The patient population includes adults to geriatrics with acute and chronic pulmonary conditions along with various cardiac issues.

Schedule

• Nights; 3x12s
• Weekends: 6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks (For night shift contracts, weekend = Fri, Sat, or Sun)
• Duration: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: 3B IMC
• Beds: 22
• Patient-to-Nurse Ratio: 1:4

Qualifications

• Active VA or Compact License required
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Recent cardiac telemetry experience within the last year
• Experience in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown work settings
• At least 2 years of nursing experience

Essential Skills

• Management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring
• Utilization of Rapid Response Teams
• Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization care
• Central line and peripheral line care/management
• PICC line management
• Management of cardiac drips (no titration)
• Titration of cardiac drips
• Adherence to Heparin protocols
• Care for Ventilated Patients including management of external CPAP/BiPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Tracheostomy management and isolation precautions
• Proficiency in EPIC EMR system

Additional Requirements

• Experience in managing traumatic brain injuries
• Willingness to take on a charge RN role with previous charge experience
• Comprehensive respiratory proficiency is required

Vaccine Information

• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1st – March 31st)
• Religious or medical exemptions must comply with CMS guidelines and require supporting documentation
