Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Schedule

This position requires a flexible schedule of 3×12 or 4×12 shifts, including every other weekend, floating, and holidays as needed within the contract.

Patient Ratios

• Typical ratio: 1:4
• May increase to 1:6 for Medical-Surgical hold patients
• Stroke patients are assigned a 1:1 ratio until admission or through the tPA treatment window
• STEMI and cardiac arrest patients are also assigned a 1:1 ratio
• No psychiatric patients assigned

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department experience
• Previous travel experience is required
• Active Virginia or Compact RN license is required at the time of submission; no exceptions
• Proficiency in Epic is necessary; no exceptions

Required Certifications

• BLS (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS (American Heart Association only)
• PALS (American Heart Association only)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• TNCC
