Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Schedule

Available schedules include 3x12s or 4x12s. Candidates must be available to work every other weekend, float, and cover holidays as required by the contract. Optional 48-hour contracts are available with overtime billed after 48 hours; candidates should indicate their preference upon submission.

Patient Ratios

• Typical patient ratio is 1:4.
• May increase to 1:6 when caring for Medical-Surgical hold patients.
• Stroke patients are assigned 1:1 until admitted or during the tPA treatment window.
• STEMI and cardiac arrest patients are also assigned 1:1.
• No psychiatric patients are included in the assignments.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department experience.
• Previous travel experience is required.
• Active RN license in Virginia or compact license must be held at the time of submission; no exceptions will be made.
• Proficiency in Epic software is mandatory; no exceptions will be made.

Required Certifications

• BLS (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS (American Heart Association only)
• PALS (American Heart Association only)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• TNCC

Compliance Requirements

Candidates will not be considered if there are any license or background issues. It is essential to thoroughly review each candidate’s history prior to submission. Additionally, local RN candidates residing within 50 miles are not eligible for this role.
