Physical Therapist – Acute Care Inpatient

The role of Physical Therapist is accountable for providing quality services within an acute care inpatient setting. The successful candidate will deliver comprehensive physical therapy services to patients of all ages, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. This position operates under the supervision of the Therapy Supervisor, Manager, and ultimately, the Director of Rehabilitation Therapies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop appropriate plans of care for patients across various therapy settings.
• Provide treatment focused on improving gait, transfer limitations, orthotic/prosthetic training, and wound care management.
• Supervise staff physical therapy assistants and rehabilitation technicians during patient care.
• Participate in program development and outcome measurements to enhance clinical practices.
• Float between inpatient hospital settings and adjust services based on departmental needs.
• Ensure optimal patient care by planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment throughout the patient’s stay.

Qualifications:

• Current Physical Therapy licensure in the relevant state.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• A minimum of 2 years experience in acute care is preferred; however, candidates with rehabilitation or skilled nursing facility experience may also be considered.
• Experience with total joint rehabilitation is preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic or similar electronic medical record systems is preferred.
• Previous travel experience is required.

Work Requirements:

• Flexibility to float to different locations as necessary based on competency and organizational needs.
• Willingness to cover an additional shift during the scheduled period as required.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays, including at least one major holiday each year, as defined by the organization.
• This is a direct patient care position.
