Registered Nurse

Position Overview

This position involves working on a locked incarcerated unit within a healthcare setting. Candidates must be comfortable and adept at working with the prison population.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to individuals within the incarcerated unit.
• Float to various medical-surgical and telemetry units, including forensics, inpatient units, and potentially ICU as required.
• Monitor patient conditions and administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in patient assessments and care planning.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute); MAB is accepted in lieu of CPI.
• Must be able to float to various units and adapt to different patient care environments.
• Experience working with correctional populations is preferred.

Schedule and Availability

This position offers a day shift consisting of 3 twelve-hour shifts (07:00 – 19:00). The contract will involve participation in holiday rotations; nurses will be required to work three out of six designated holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.

Nurses may arrange schedule swaps with peers when feasible to accommodate personal preferences.

The contract period will extend into the new year, ensuring coverage for holiday shifts and ongoing patient care needs.
