Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

This position involves working on a locked incarcerated unit within a hospital setting. Candidates must be comfortable interacting with a prison population.

Responsibilities

• Float between various Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units, including forensics, inpatient units, and potentially the ICU as needed.
• Participate in patient care, assessments, and treatment plans for individuals in a correctional setting.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care to patients.
• Adhere to safety protocols and standards of care within a secure environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a nursing role required.
• Current certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) trainings. MAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) certification will be accepted in lieu of CPI.

Schedule

This position involves 3×12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Nurses will participate in a holiday rotation during which they are expected to work 3 of the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. Nurses may arrange schedule swaps with peers when feasible to meet personal preferences.

Additional Information

All contracts starting in September should extend into the new year for comprehensive holiday coverage.
