Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

This position is located on a locked incarcerated unit within a hospital setting. Candidates must be comfortable and experienced working with the prison population. The role requires flexibility, as the staff will be floated to various medical-surgical/telemetry units, including forensics, inpatient units, and potentially ICU.

Shift Details

• Type: Night shifts, 3×12 hours
• Hours: 19:00 – 07:00

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients within the correctional setting.
• Float to various units as required, maintaining patient care standards across different settings.
• Participate in the holiday rotation, working three of the following six holidays:
  • Thanksgiving
  • Black Friday
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day
  • New Year’s Eve
  • New Year’s Day
• Coordinate schedule swaps with peers for personal preferences when feasible.

Qualifications

• Must possess active BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CPI certifications (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI).
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience is required.
• Experience with correctional health care and the ability to work with a diverse patient population is preferred.

Contract Information

All contracts beginning in September will extend into the new year to ensure holiday coverage.
