Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Job Summary

This position requires a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform various responsibilities related to nuclear medicine imaging, including but not limited to drawing venous blood, managing isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE), and handling radioactive materials. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs and possess experience in pharmacological stress testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear medicine procedures, including PET imaging and stress testing.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout imaging procedures.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Monitor and record patient responses during procedures.
• Participate in orientation and training as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in nuclear medicine.
• Experience as a first-time traveler is accepted.
• Required certifications: ARRT (N), CNMT, BLS, and PET certification.
• Preferred certification: ARRT (CT).
• Experience with Siemens Biograph mCT/FLOW equipment is an advantage.

Shift and Schedule

• Full-time position, offering 40 hours per week.
• Day shift: 8-hour days, from 08:00 to 16:30.
• No weekend requirements, although call and float requirements may occur depending on unit needs.

Patient Population

This role involves working primarily with oncology patients, including initial staging and follow-ups, as well as pediatric oncology and neurology cases related to dementia and cardiology for MPI stress testing.

Orientation

A 40-hour orientation program is required for all new staff, with the start date confirmed the Tuesday prior to the first week of employment.

Scrubs

Scrubs are not provided; royal blue scrubs are required.
