Surgical Technologist

Varies from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Unit Information

Position available in the Labor-Delivery-Recovery unit, which includes two operating rooms. The unit handles approximately 300 deliveries each month.

Job Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for:

• Scrubbing for C-sections, tubal ligations, and hysterectomies.
• Assisting with D&C procedures and understanding the medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) process during emergency situations such as postpartum hemorrhages.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in the specialty of surgical technology.
• Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification.
• Preferred: National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA) certification or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) certification.

Holiday Expectations

Candidates must be available to work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day) and 1 minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve).
