Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment, providing comprehensive care to laboring and preterm patients. This role requires strong clinical skills in emergency situations, particularly with C-sections, and proficiency in computer charting, preferably using Cerner.

Job Details

• Unit Type: Labor and Delivery (L&D)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Patient Ratios: 2:1 for laboring patients, 4:1 for Antepartum, 1:1 for C-sections
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per schedule
• Holidays: Must work 2 of 3 major holidays, with coverage preferred

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of L&D nursing experience
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Experience with C-sections required
• Competence in electronic medical records (EMR), preferably Cerner

Onboarding Requirements

• Pass a dysrhythmia exam within the first week of onboarding (2 attempts maximum)
• Complete a pass/fail simulation lab on the first day of orientation; study guides will be provided

Unit Information

• Total beds: 40 (18 LDRP’s, 14 bed OB triage, 8 bed Antepartum)
• Average deliveries: 8-10 per day, 322-344 per month
• Operative suites: 2 fully equipped ORs for C-sections
• Level II EQ facility accepting gestations 28 weeks and older; also a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Staffing supported to meet AWHONN guidelines and ratios; patient assignments are managed for safety

Additional Notes

• No call or standby required; volunteering for call is allowed
• Participants will float to Mother/Baby/Postpartum when necessary
