Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Job Summary

An exciting opportunity for experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses is available. The position requires flexibility to work both day and night shifts, based on unit needs. Candidates must be prepared to work weekends and be available for on-call duties.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Operating Room (OR)
• Number of Suites: 11
• Average Cases per Day: 30-40

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in the operating room.
• Scrub for a variety of surgical procedures including neuro, spine, ortho, vascular, thoracic, general, trauma, gyn, urology, ENT, robotics, and plastics.
• Participate in pre-operative and post-operative care, ensuring all patient needs are met.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain efficiency and safety during procedures.
• Respond to on-call requirements, with a 20-minute response time for trauma and 30 minutes for non-trauma cases.
• Float to other units as required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid BLS Certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience required.
• Experience in trauma cases is essential.
• Robotics experience (specifically with DaVinci systems) is required.
• Experience in scrubbing is mandatory.
• Familiarity with the Epic electronic medical record system is essential.

Shifts and Scheduling

Shifts will be three 12-hour blocks per week, with flexibility required between days and nights. The scheduling system in place is Qgenda, which may help in managing shift assignments and rotations.

Additional Information

Unit-specific orientation will be provided to familiarize candidates with protocols and expectations. Hospital scrubs will be provided.
