Sterile Processing Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping of sterile instruments and supplies. This role is crucial to ensuring a clean and safe environment for surgical procedures.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM (Monday to Friday) with holiday rotation.
• Weekend rotation may be required.
• Floating between facilities is expected based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and packaging of surgical instruments.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality control standards.
• Assist with the organization and maintenance of sterilization equipment and work areas.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to meet operational needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
• Experience working in a Level 1 trauma environment is required.
• Proficient in sterilization, decontamination, and assembly of surgical instruments.
• Experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedics, transplant, and GYN cases is preferred.
• National certification through CBSPD and/or HSPA is required.
• BLS certification is not required.

Additional Information

• Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Guaranteed hours: The facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks.
• Parking costs apply for nights and weekends with a one-time payment for a parking pass.
• During hurricane season, staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams.
