Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Neuroscience Med/Surg unit. This role requires a focus on delivering high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients with various medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients experiencing conditions such as stroke, TIA, seizures, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, and more.
• Monitor patient status and intervene effectively as needed.
• Assist in procedures, including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation.
• Float to other units based on patient care needs and individual skill set.
• Ensure adherence to patient experience standards and support a collaborative team environment.

Shift Details

This position offers night shifts with a schedule of 4×12 hours (18:45 – 07:15). Weekend coverage is required on an every other basis.

Staffing Ratios

The staffing ratio during night shifts is 1 nurse to 6 patients.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Tennessee.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Proficient in using EPIC for electronic health records.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• No first-time travelers; prior travel experience is necessary.

Patient Demographics

This unit primarily cares for adult and geriatric patients, focusing on those with higher acuity medical-surgical needs.

Medication System

The unit utilizes the Omnicell medication system for medication management.
