ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will be capable of providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a commitment to excellence in patient care and a collaborative spirit to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Shift Information

• Shift: Days
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Rotating with permanent staff

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Unit: Medical ICU
• Bed Capacity: 82 Critical Care Beds (48 ICU, 34 PCU)
• Patient Ratios: ICU 1:1 or 1:2, PCU 1:3
• Common Diagnoses: All critical care diagnoses

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients
• Monitor and manage patients’ vital signs and medical needs
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Perform specialized procedures as needed, and support with additional duties as required
• Float to other ICUs and PCUs as required

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Experience with ventilators and high-acuity patient management
• Strong Med-Surg background preferred

Additional Information

• Floating required between all ICUs and PCUs within the region
• Orientation provided: 1 week with an educator, minimum of 2 shifts
• Tele/Monitor Techs available only in PCU
• Support services available 24/7, including pharmacy and respiratory therapy
