ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

This position involves performing a variety of integrated pre-operative and post-operative critical care functions, utilizing the nursing process and applying a comprehensive nursing knowledge in a compassionate manner.

Responsibilities

• Assessment: Evaluate patients for physical, emotional, psychological, social, and family support needs.
• Coordination: Organize and coordinate all aspects of patient care according to the patient’s actual and perceived needs.
• Evaluation: Assess patient progress by aligning patient information with nursing knowledge to determine the effectiveness of the care plan or clinical path.
• Collaboration: Work with healthcare team members to plan and implement comprehensive care for patients.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of SICU experience.
• Prior travel assignment history is preferred.
• Experience with Epic EMR is preferred.
• Active Michigan nursing license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification.
• Skills checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to ICU specialty.
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.

Additional Information

• Work Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, requiring a guarantee of hours per week.
• Weekend Requirement: Three weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period, specifically Friday and Saturday.
• On Call Requirements: No on-call duties are required.
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs must be worn during shifts.
• Electronic Medical Record System: Epic.
