Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) who is willing to scrub in addition to circulating. This role is integral to our surgical team, providing high-quality care in a variety of surgical specialties.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of patient care in the operating room.
• Perform both circulating and scrubbing duties as needed.
• Provide patient education and support to patients and their families.
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float throughout different surgical specialties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Operating Room settings.
• Must possess a current BLS certification.
• Experience in Trauma Level I settings is required; candidates with over 2 years of experience will be prioritized if they have at least 1 year in Level 1 trauma experience.
• Must be willing and able to scrub in addition to circulating in the operating room.
• Pending licenses are not accepted; a valid in-state RN license is required.

Work Schedule

This position typically involves day shifts of four 10-hour days, with some flexibility required for rotating on-call responsibilities.

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
• Candidates should be well-rounded in many areas of surgical care, except for CV and Transplant specialties.

Unit Information

The operating room comprises multiple surgical specialties, including General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, GYN, ENT, Trauma, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, GU, and Colorectal Robotics.

Charting and Parking

Charting will be conducted through Cerner, and parking is provided free of charge for all staff members.
